The Kinetic Brief
This Month’s Headlines
Intro
Welcome to this month’s edition of The Kinetic Brief. It has been a busy few weeks across the industry with policy updates, manufacturer changes and plenty happening here at Kinetic too. As always, our goal is to keep things short, clear and helpful so you can stay ahead of what matters in the fleet and leasing world.
1. Industry calls for government to stay on track with ZEV targets
A group of major EV manufacturers including Polestar, Tesla and industry bodies are urging the government to hold firm on its zero emission vehicle targets ahead of the Budget. They warn that relaxing the rules now would confuse the market, undermine investment and slow the shift to electric. With BEV adoption continuing to grow and driver loyalty stronger than ever, momentum is clearly building. For fleets and leasing clients, it is a reminder to plan ahead, understand supply and stay aligned with manufacturer strategies.

2. Salary sacrifice schemes under review in the Autumn Budget
Reports suggest the Chancellor is considering changes to salary sacrifice benefits, especially around tax advantages. While pensions are the main focus, industry leaders are stressing the need to protect EV salary sacrifice schemes. These schemes are a major driver in business electrification and any change could affect affordability. SMEs and business owners should keep an eye on the announcements and be prepared to review any salary sacrifice arrangements that support their EV plans..

3. New CO₂ figures for key PHEV models and the fleet impact
BMW has released updated CO₂ figures for several of its plug in hybrid models under the stricter Euro 6e bis testing. Some models now fall into higher benefit in kind tax bands, meaning vehicles ordered today could have bigger tax bills once delivered. For fleet managers and business owners, it is important to double check specs, speak with their broker and make sure contract pricing reflects the revised figures.

4. EV Deal of the Month: Skoda Elroq SportLine
This month’s standout EV offer is the brand-new Skoda Elroq Estate 210kW 85 SportLine 82kWh Auto. A smart choice for business users, the Elroq delivers strong range, plenty of tech and the sharp SportLine styling that makes it feel a cut above in the compact SUV segment.
Ideal for drivers who want practicality with premium touches, it offers impressive performance, low running costs and all the benefits of zero emission motoring

5. Out of the Office: Kinetic joins BNI Nouveau
We are excited to share that Kinetic has joined the BNI Nouveau chapter. The atmosphere is genuinely upbeat and full of energy, and it already feels like a great place to be. Being part of this network means we can build real relationships with local businesses who value personal recommendations and like working with people they trust. It is also a brilliant way to introduce Kinetic to more SMEs, learn about the challenges they face and support them with the right vehicle solutions. We are excited to grow alongside the group and turn these new connections into meaningful partnerships.

Customer Spotlight: Scoffable
This month we handed over another batch of vehicles to our long standing customer Scoffable. They are one of Scotland’s leading online food ordering platforms, connecting customers with hundreds of brilliant local takeaways and online grocery shopping.
The latest vehicles added to their fleet were Hyundai Konas, ideal for keeping their sales team out on the road as they continue to grow their partner network. Scoffable is expanding fast and it has been great supporting them through each stage of their journey. A big thanks to the team for continuing to choose Kinetic.
